Open year-round at 56 Creek Rd. just five minutes off Highway 401, the huge tourist destination offers room for visitors to roam, indoors and out. Passion and attention to details has earned The Glasshouse Nursery and Garden Centre a spot among the Top 10 Canadian Independent Garden Centres.

The Van Raay family shows their guests how to celebrate the changing seasons naturally. Blooming tulips, magnolia trees and redbuds usher in spring. Summer is ripe: Fruit trees, hydrangeas, countless blooms and their large selection perennials, including their beautiful shade-seeking Hosta collection. Local craft markets, mums, pumpkins and changing colours announce autumn. In September the glasshouse team heads inside, where they spend three months transforming the space into a Christmas Wonderland that delights kids, young and old.

“We love seeing the surprised and inspired expressions on our guests’ when they see our team’s creations and displays,” says Erin Van Raay.

Right now, gardening enthusiasts and curious day trippers are strolling along paths winding through mature and new garden vignettes and relaxing on benches by the calming ponds, waterfalls and bubbling living rocks. Kids explore the turtle and koi ponds in the greenhouse and play with the kittens.
